Version Changes
Version 6.2.2 - May 2008
Version 6.2.1 - April 2008
-
Removed base station error messages from
Demo/Training Version when voting hardware is not being used.
-
Fix: On the Report Options screen, the effect
of setting the "scatters per page" option was reversed (selecting
1 previously printed 4 scatters, selecting 4 printed one scatter per page).
-
Fix: In the Scales dialog box, the list of
existing scales is now alphabetical (display issue only)
-
Fix: when editing a scale's choice list, the
order number wasn't being displayed on a recently edited item
(display issue only).
-
Improvement: When displaying results, Innovator
will now remember the legend font size if you change it by
right-clicking in the legend area and selecting Font. This is
useful if your choices are very long.
-
Customer Request/Improvement: When voting a
pair compare, the auto-font size method will now force the two
items, top and bottom, to have the same font size. Previously, the
text size for each choice was maximized to fit the box and the
length of the item. This would cause very short items to appear
large, while longer, more descriptive items to be displayed with a
smaller font. To avoid any subliminal effect of a larger font
indicating value or strength, the fonts will be equalized. Now, on
any pair page, the largest possible font for both top and bottom
will be used, balancing readability with voting effect. This
option can be controlled in the preferences screen and by default
will force the fonts to be the same. If you want Innovator to
calculate the fonts for top and bottom independently (as in
previous versions), you can uncheck the box for this feature.
Version 6.2 - December 2007
-
New Vote Type - Sheet Laundering. This vote
type automates the normally facilitated activity of
laundering brainstormed items on flip charts. Works well when
trying to do this activity in large audiences where working with
flipcharts is not effective.
-
New Feature - Scoring is now available
for Polls. You can now do tests with Innovator and get results by
keypad and by group. When adding choices to a Poll, you can assign
a score to one or more choices for that vote. Scores can be viewed
in a new report and can be shown by keypad, or grouped by a
selected demographic (non-scored) poll. This way "teams" can be
created for the scoring activity, or demographics used to
understand the results.
-
New Reports:
-
Detailed Session list of Issues and choices
-
Answer key (for
scored Polls)
-
Scored Results Report - by keypad or group
-
Fix: Item numbers now display in markers when
printing an Opportunity Map
-
No more support for Fleetwood keypads.
Based on customer usage, only CLiKAPAD keypads will be supported
in this version of Innovator.
-
Fix: When pasting into lists from Word, bullets
and numbered lists are now handled better (before would add the
extra characters that represent the bullet or number before the
item which caused display/entry problems).
-
Improvement: When exporting results from the
main Session screen, keypads that have not cast any votes are now
ignored.
Version 6.1.6 - July 10, 2007
-
Improved: Innovator now communicates directly
with CLiKAPAD base stations. This means that the extra step of
setting up a COM Port is no longer required. This simplifies
installation and improves general operation with these keypads.
-
New Feature: Auto-starting votes now works with
CLiKAPAD keypads. From the main session screen, click the "Auto
Start Vote" box. When you begin a vote, you won't need to press
the "Start" button at the top left of the screen. In certain
situations this is beneficial, but if you are intending to discuss
the item while it is onscreen, then manually beginning the
vote is still advised.
-
New Feature: Axis charts for Opportunity Maps.
From the View dropdown at the top of a chart, you can now
display charts for the vertical and horizontal axis.
-
Fix: When displaying a chart, if your legend
items were longer than 250 characters, an error would occur and
the chart would fail. Long items are allowed during voting, but
the display will be slightly truncated when the chart appears.
This affects all vote types.
Version 6.1.5 - November 27, 2006
-
Fix: cleaned up the stop vote procedure. While
voting, the questions after pressing the stop button have been
refined.
-
Serial Number / Product Registration process -
From the About screen you can register your Innovator license.
-
Export / Import Session - now supports
transferring participant data. The new Export/Import will preserve
the session across computers. What does this mean? When you export
a session from one computer, import on another, it will be
identical. If you import the same session again, it will overwrite
the existing information. You can Export/Import the entire session
from the Open Session screen. Select a session and press the
Export button, or press the Import button and locate the session
information file to load.
-
When viewing a bar chart onscreen, the original
item numbers are now preserved when sorting high/low and low/high.
Version 6.1.3 - March 1, 2006
-
New Feature: Combine Sessions - Access this
feature from the initial Open Session dialog box. You can select
two or more previously voted sessions to combine into a newly
created "roll-up" type session. This is useful for doing
multi-session surveys and generating combined reporting and
analysis after the events.
-
New Feature: Revote Opportunity Map Horizontal
Axis - When revoting an opportunity map, you now can elect to only
revote the horizontal axis. This will copy the vertical vote and
allow you to "experiment" on your list of items.
-
New Feature: From the Session screen, you can
now combine similar Polls into a single Rate Items list. Polls
must have the same number of choices to be combined. The text for
each Poll becomes an item in the list. This is useful for
reporting and analysis of similar polls.
-
Help file updated for all new features. See
relevant articles for more information (screen help and
guidebook).
-
FIX: When viewing Opportunity Map scatters, if
you mouse over the scatter dot, it was displaying an item label
from the main map chart. This is now corrected and only the dot's
coordinates are displayed.
Version 6.1.2 - February 15, 2006
Version 6.1.1 - Released January 22,
2006
-
IMPORTANT: Version 6.1 includes changes
to the database structure and is a major update. If you are using
version 6.0 of Innovator, this will install into a new folder and
not overwrite your existing information.
-
New vote type -
Decision Matrix. A Decision Matrix is a vote in which a
list of alternatives is evaluated against a set of criteria.
-
MAJOR FEATURE: Innovator now supports
new credit card sized keypads.
Call or email for more information.
-
Update: All vote processing routines have been
updated.
-
Enhancement: Voting progress is now embedded
into the voting screen. This eliminates the floating vote progress
window that would appear in the bottom right of the voting screen.
Now progress appears at the bottom of the window.
-
Enhancement: Scanning for keypads is now built
into the Participant setup screen (no longer do you need to use
the Quick Poll feature to scan for keypads).
-
New Feature: Weighting added to
participant/keypad. Normally, each keypad receives the same
weighting when scoring a vote. In many cases, such as delegate
voting where the keypad represents a constituency of varying size,
it is important to weight the participant votes differently. You
can add weights on the Participant Edit screen. Click on the
Participants button from the Session screen. Select a keypad
number and press Edit. A weight value of 2 will be the same as if
that participant voted on two keypads with the same responses.
-
New Feature: From the main session screen, you
can combine previously voted Decision Matrices. This allows you to
split large matrices for efficient vote processing in your
sessions. See the help article for Decision Matrix for more
information.
-
New Feature: Paste Option available on all vote
edit screens. Use this feature to copy and paste items from your
Word or other text documents into Innovator. All issue (name)
fields support pasting using the standard windows paste key
(control-V) after copying text from another source. Now, you can
press the Paste button to bring a list in from Word. Each line in
the list will become a choice in Polls, or items in Ratings, Pairs
and Opportunity Maps. You can also paste your alternatives into
the Decision Matrix.
-
New Feature: Keypad tester is available on the
toolbar. Allows you to test and manage your keypads without
setting up a session in Innovator.
-
Charting features:
-
For chart readability, added numbers to the X
axis instead of text. Text labels often did not fit. Numbers now
correspond to the choices in the legend.
-
For decision matrix votes, you can adjust the
criteria weighting directly from the chart screen to do "what if"
analysis.
Version 6.0.6 - Released January 3, 2005
-
Enhancement: When voting rate
items, pair compare, and opportunity maps, the Issue, and in the case of
opportunity maps
the axis label, are displayed in the title bar for reference.
-
Enhancement: Allow selection of multiple issues
when voting. Innovator will automatically advance through all selected
issues. Charts can be displayed between each or tuned off with the
"Show chart after vote" feature on the Session screen.
-
Enhancement: Auto-start feature is now
available when voting. From the Session screen, turn on the "Auto
Start Vote" feature. When enabled, Innovator will immediately
begin polling the issue when the Vote button is pressed (or the
issue is doubleclicked). If this
is not enabled, then you must press the Start button from the
voting screen to begin. This is desirable when sequencing multiple
votes, such as in a survey, to limit interaction with the
computer. It is still recommended to enhance your process that you
do not use this feature for most issues. You should take the time
while the issue and choices are displayed to reinforce, and ensure
comprehension, of the items being voted.
-
Fix: When selecting individual participants to
print, Innovator would revert back to the entire group after
printing the report. Innovator now maintains the selected
participant list until the feature is turned off.
-
Fix: Printing while in print preview now works.
-
Enhancement: Cover page is now optional on the
Print Options dialog box.
-
Enhancement: Extended individual reporting
features. On print options dialog box, you now have the option to
print individual reports. Select one or more issues to print from
the Session screen. Press Print, then on the Print Options dialog
box, check the Individual Reports option. For each participant,
all selected reports will be printed. If you elect to include the
cover page, then this will separate the pages. Participant names
appear at the top of each page when this feature is used. You can
limit the participants to be printed by checking the "Display /
print only selected participants" option on the Session screen.
-
When using the "Display / print only selected
participants" feature, information messages now only appear the
first time.
-
When you stop vote from the progress box at the
bottom right of the screen, you can now choose to discard the
votes collected. This allows you to restart the vote fresh in the
event your audience requires clarification. See the article
Continue Voting Question in the Help file for more
information.
-
Enhancement: Up and down arrow buttons give the
ability to move to next / previous issue from the chart
screen
-
Help system updated. Data Triage article added.
Version 6.0.5 - Released 21 July 2004
-
Fix: When adding a new Poll, if you clicked on
the Add button to set the choices, nothing would appear (If you
used the keyboard combination Alt-A to get to the Add Choice box,
it worked fine)
Version 6.0.4 - Released 12 July 2004
-
Fix: About box now reflects correct version
number
-
New Feature: Spellchecker added to vote setup
screens
-
Enhancement: Copy From feature now lets you
copy multiple votes at once
-
New Feature: Auto sizing of fonts on vote
screen now available - when Auto font is set, Innovator will
calculate the largest possible font to display on the screen in
which all text can be shown.
-
Enhancement: On participant screen, inactive
participants are marked with a double asterisk (**) after the
keypad number
-
Enhancement: Pairs are now shuffled before
voting in Pair Comparisons and Opportunity Maps. This is the
default setting. An option on the Preferences screen allows you to
turn off this feature.
-
Fix: On Opportunity map charts, large numbers
of items now display in a single light color for better
readability
-
Fix: Opportunity Map legends with large number
of items would lose item number. Also, charts with 10 or less
items now include the item number in the legend along with the
color marker
-
